In the past I had refrigerator with mechanical thermostats and piezo-electronic igniter.
When it took a while to start the flame, fridge would run with no electricity and I remember 1 who at 15 years of age would still freeze ice-cream solid. 120V operation was simple switch.
Now newer generation fridges have whole electronic panel, who can light discotheque on it, but when electronic board fails, you are about $150 short on part and probably $300 on labor if you don't DIY.
To add to anointment the fridge automatically switches to gas mode, when there is spike in 120V supply.
Now raise the hand who is familiar with temperature adjustment on modern fridge?
