I heard some complain on Diesel forum. Its a government mandate for vehicles below 10,001 pounds but GM doesn't even offer it as an option on the 3500 trucks. Thats what many complain about.
I have TST system on my dually. There is advantages to the aftermarket TPMS. 1- Ability to set alert ranges. 2- Reads Temperature. 3 - Reads trailers tires too.
I have this same system on my F 550. Very flexible system and customer support is 5 star. I talked to them yesterday about a broken sensor and they just put a new one in the mail and I will have it on monday.
Word of caution. I have had a blow out on my F550 so I am doing everything I can to avoid this again. I installed a Bulls Eye Equalizer System on my rear duals. The inside sensors do not like the extra weight and both came apart. My outer sensors are Ok because of the position they are in. So I plan to leave the inner sensors off but continue to run the outer sensors. I will still see any drop in pressure since the tires are connected, but I will not be able to read inner temperatures. I like the equalizer because of the weight of my RV from side to side. The TST TPMS really opened my eyes as to what was going on with those duals.
