Air bag leak found now what

Swear alot, and buy new bag on amazon, that's what I did, twice, then I didn't have to do it anymore because both bags were now new :).

I'm looking at the perfuse foaming at the swivel ell

The ring around top of bag at plate, I assumed just the liquid that was sprayed on. IF thats also bubbling then yes bag is toast though from here doesnt look like a leak.

The OP said it was the fitting and by looking at the picture all the suds are coming from that area, Just because you see a few bubbles around the bag and metal plate doesn't mean thats where the leak is, when you test with soap and water you look for the area that the bubbles are moving and growing and by the photo the fitting is that

Nothing you do to the fitting is going to fix that!
And push to fit fitting work great as long as the tube is cut straight and sharp.

If you have a leak that you can't find, check the valve stem tightness.

The fitting advice is excellent. Proper sealing of the threads is imperative.

Every leak of the tubing fitting I have encountered helping friends etc has been improper prep of the tip of the tubing and making sure that are NO scratches etc on the end of the tube that is going into the fitting. An extremely smooth cut is important.. Just a bit of silicon grease makes the tubing and the "O" ring slide and seat easy and no rolling of the "O" ring..

I have rescued many folks with leaking Ice Maker Tubing attachments... SAME issue.


Think disc brake piston seals., if you have ever rebuilt one...

My AirLift bags, remote control, pump has been on 2 trucks and is 14 years old... NO leaks.

Many of the Firestone bags are available, you can find them on Ebay or at places like SD Truck Springs.

I have had a leak in my drivers side Firestone air bag for years.. A slow leak but with my on-board compressor it is manageable. Recently I decided to replace the bag. When I went to dealer the technician researched the cost of replacing just one bag and I got the bad news that Firestone will not sell just one bag. They will send the dealer a complete set up for over $500... At that point I decided I can live with the leak...

Id hazard guess that its the swivel ell itself. Possible, but I'm unsure why thread would start leaking on older install, but ? And that's leaking a bit. The line I could see, or the 2 piece ell. (tightening from above, likely your only turning the swivel section)

At any-rate Id have one in hand before I went to effort to remove/replace. As the nut on ell is thinner than the plate that it goes thru, even IF I could access I doubt I have a thin enough offset open end to even try (with bag mounted to bracket).
As ell is installed before mounting bag, I at least would need to remove from truck.
