Seems like I recall reading several threads ove the years about cracks in the frame cause by airbag brackets that mount outside the frame rails. The lifting force/pressure on the side of the frame caused the cracks.
For that reason, I went with PacBrake airbags on my dually. They mount entirely under the frame.
I do think entirely under the frame is the best choice, but the Firestone is part under.
