That is most likely the problem. Learn to switch the refrigerator to gas and shut off the converter if you want a good chance of operating ac with Honda 2000. Took me a while to learn this. Another trick is to set the thermostat so low that it will not cycle. Harder restarting when everything is heated up and pressures are higher.

That might not be a problem, but I think that the batteries being disconnected will just cause the charger to go into bulk mode in an attempt to get the batteries to charge up. There should be a breaker in your panel that shuts the battery charger off. I know that my microwave seems to run slow (fan turning slower and turntable turning slower) when on the generator unless I shut the battery charger off.
