I also recently inherited one of the EF2800i Yamaha inverter gensets that can easily handle the load, but it takes 2 people to move and is considerable louder. It also emits fumes from the cap that make it harder to store in an SUV and TT that has gas appliances.
Every genset wil emit a certain amount of oil & gas fumes
even with the gas cap vent closed. When I bought my first EU2000i a few years ago the first thing I did was to come up with as compact a storage bin as I could find with a lid that would seal in the fumes. I found the perfect bin for length & width but the darned genset handle interfered with closing the lid :R ... so I modified it as shown
in these pics. It works really well and allows me to store my EU in my workshop and although I normally travel with it in the back of my Avalanche I'd have no hesitation putting it inside the camper for travel. One EU2000i may run your A/C, two connected together definitely will ... and with these bins you can store the genset(s) where you want and not have to smell them. :B
