The original ones on the '99 were Armstong 16" 245/85LT tires. I didn't think of it as a great tire, one had what was described as a "slipping belt" and had to be swapped out for the spare within 10K miles. But they lasted until I feared for the sidewalls - when they are cracked enough that you can get a real good view of the cord, it's time. About 88K miles and 14 years in this case, no where near the legal tread depth markers. I replaced them with Michelin LTX. The LTX gave a better ride, but wander a bit more.
The new truck has 17" LT tires, General brand (which I guess is really Continental). At 220 miles, its early to tell how long they are going to last!
