Almost 80,000 Miles on a set of tires.
I just put a new set of skins on my dually in preparation for a trip through the mountain passes to Alberta from Vancouver.
I just have to say how well pleased I am on the service life of the old tires. Michelin LTX M&S load range E. Especially considering my truck is always loaded, and it is 4WD as well. And I tow a lot too. I rotated them regularly.
These tires have given me 4 years of trouble free service. They have handled very well in all driving conditions from off road dragging the TT into a lake somewhere to the slick Vancouver rainy roads to snow in BC's mountain passes. Never a problem, ever. I think I had to get one fixed when I picked up a screw somewhere.
I didn't quite break 80,000 miles but came close. 127,543K or 79,251.5 miles on them. I would have left them on a while longer, but because I'm heading to Alberta with the TT on Tuesday, I opted to renew them.
They don't make the same tires anymore for my truck, but they make the LTX M&S2, which is the replacement for them. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I guess I'll find out, because that's what I bought. I'm told they last longer. $1450, bit of a bite but you only cry once! 6 of the beggars!
Just a little tire report for anyone considering what to buy next.
I am totally sold on these tires.
I had them on my minivan for years too with perfect service, (until a 5 ton truck wiped me off the road and wrecked the van)
