I second Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are great. After living in CO for over 27 years I think for a short trip it would hard to beat. Go through the park come into Grand Lake and then on to Granby. Then you can head back to Denver if you are running out of time. I would try to go through the park during the week because this area can be very crowded on weekends. Might be able to spot some elk in the park also.
