Alternate Alternator charging system

The attached drawings are for conceptual purposes only. Please do not critique the drawings.

SCENARIO: An alternator is driven by a tire/wheel attached to a pivoting arm.

QUESTIONs: Is such a setup a viable design? Would an alternate alternator provide any benefits above the standard charging from the vehicle's alternator?

{why do the images not load?}

    Yup. Those two images were/are uploaded to another web site. No workie-workie.
  • Too complex IMO.

    Picture does need to be on a server not your home computer.

    Might be better to just add 250+ watts solar.
  • The alternator would have too much drag on that one wheel. May cause tire wear issues.

    NO. There is no free energy.

    Driving a larger or second alternator directly off the engine would be more efficient........than putting extra energy to the drive wheels and then trying to recover that from the forward motion.
