My latches broke and I would bungy the top down from the inside but the wind pulled it open and then broke two latches.
We live in a hot area so we never opened the top, we always run the AC.
What I did was I removed the two gas shocks. I then used four S.S screws and installed them from the white frame into the black part where the gas shocks were so it wouldn't open again. I also placed three small pieces of tap over the hinges for extra security. (I used Intra bond...white roof tape.)
This worked great.
