Hey Dave!
This is what is fun about Taxon identification. The real serious scientists will actually dissect the plant to identify it. For me it is fun to just find them, like when I found red Snow Plants for the first time. Then trying to figure out what they are. It certainly can be Myosotis alpestris, as both have the common name of; Forget-me-Not. What I shared is how I know the plant, from the photo you shared and leaf shape. The photo I shared was taken by me in the northern Cascades in 2012. Far away from Kansas, but still beautiful! This is the recorded range of the Jessica Stickseed;

And I enjoyed looking up the Genus Species you shared too. It certainly could be that as well. I am certainly not any specialist. They sure are interesting plants. Almost too "manufactured" appearing to be a plant. Beautiful setting and meadow shown in your photo.
