You don't have any idea of what caused the turbo failures yet you are compelled to put your statement in writing and slam an American Company that employs Americans. What would your statement have been if you knew that engine was using a petroleum oil? I suppose every turbo charged engine that uses Amsoil has had or will have turbo failures. BS
The turbos in the Audi are "failed" due to bearing failure. As I clearly stated, "the turbo failures may OR MAY NOT be related to the brand of oil.
However, bearings sometimes fail due to oil problems. Sometimes they fail for other reasons. It is interesting to me that both turbos failed with bearing problems. What are the chances that both turbos had a manufacturing defect in the bearings that would cause them to fail ? I don't know.
My observation stands. I stated the problem the engine suffered. I stated the brand of oil. I further admitted the brand of oil may or may not have contributed. What I also know about this situation (This fella has been a friend of mine for decades ) is the guy maintains all of his vehicles on or ahead of schedule. He is meticulous, and loves that car. So it had regular oil changes.
What would my statement have been if the engine failed with petro based oil ? If the thread would have been about petro based oil, I would have made the same observations, filling in the blanks with the facts.
You statements about them being an American company, employing American workers, etc has no bearing ( pardon the pun ) on the subject. We're talking about the oil, and the business model of pricing.
