A single battery isn't going to last long. Put in a pair of 6V golf cart batteries and you'll be a lot happier. Solar is definitely an option as is a portable generator, and the latter has the additional advantage of being able to power your AC off the grid if necessary.
I thought about the generator but some places we go do not allow them at all. I'm looking at the small Honda with a propane adaptor. No need to bring gas when I already bring propane.
I think the propane ones are pretty thirsty and propane is more of a pain to pick up than filling up a gas can. On the size you need to consider whether you're just wanting to top off the battery versus run your AC. Obviously solar would just be for keeping up the batteries.
A lot of it has to do with where you live and how you camp. Out west most of our camping is dispersed so there aren't neighbors to consider when it comes to noise, and we have pretty hot summers. I've never camped in the northeast but I've been there and it's a whole different ballgame in terms of people density and restrictions and whatnot.
Solar may well be a better option for you, but either way I'd encourage you to look into a pair of golf cart batteries.
