Other than the Ford SuperDuty front suspension it looks like the same old truck.
It may look the same, but clearly, you missed a lot in the article....
Besides the front suspension changes, it also has the strongest frame in the industry (50,000 psi), game changer coil spring rear suspension (2500) and/or air suspension, 3 stage/setting exhaust brake in the diesel, highest 2500 series tow ratings gas and diesel (2500 RAM ratings are the same as the other guys 3500 ratings), most hp and tq in class in the gas engine, most tq with the diesel engine, most hp in the gas engines, only gas engine with variable displacement in a HD truck....etc. - Perrysburg_DodgExplorerItguy I'm talking about the test they are doing with the MY14 Ram 3500 and MY14 F450. They have a link to that test in the OP'S link. Why is it, in 2010 they used the weaker Ram 3500 instead of using 4500 Ram like they are doing now?
They claim the Ram is more in line with the F450 so why didn't they do the same for the Ram in the 2010 testing?

An air bag system will be offered on 3500 dually models, but only as a supplemental piece of the maximum tow package, working in tandem with the existing multi-pack leaf springs. The 3500 system will also offer load leveling; pricing has not been finalized for either system.
This is also an apparent incorrect statement(s). I'm in the process of ordering a '14 Ram 3500 SRW and the air bags are an option. The price for the option is $1595. - itguy08Explorer

So let me get this right, when Ram was at the bottom of the tow ratings they still ran it against the same rated trucks. Now that Ram is at the top they put a Ram 3500 up against a F-450 and claim it's because the Ram is really a 4500 in sheep's clothing? Put it up against the F350 and GM/Chevy 3500 like they did before and lets see how they all fair now!
Huh? In the linked article they ran the Ram 2500 against the F-250 and GM 2500.... - Engineer9860ExplorerWhen I was invited to attend this test I told them I was bringing my tire pressure gauge. It was right after that when they gave me a different time, and location for the test. :w
I never did find that new location...... :h - 45RicochetExplorerThat ain't a dig? Guess we all have reading compression levels.
The Chevy felt the lightest of the three and as a result had the most trouble keeping the backend of the truck quiet when the dirt road became choppy and rutted. The frontend felt comfortable at slower speeds and during cornering, but it couldn’t keep the rear axle from jumping and wanting to slide from side to side when the chatter hit
OBTW that isn't my quote ! - Engineer9860ExplorerOther than the Ford SuperDuty front suspension it looks like the same old truck.

Don - 45RicochetExplorerI think that is just for the SRW trucks IB. I've seen guys with 2014 MY DRW with 3.73 and 4.10's in em over on the Cummins forum.
