Too funny. Can you imagine if there was a thread started every time a GM or Ford has a problem. Lol. :)
I agree.

You may be on to something. Changing basic driver controls should be approached with caution and only with significant study. Muscle memory is tough to reprogram, especially under a stressful situation where humans go back to basics.
Exactly, they were pushing on the brake to stop the car... except it wasn't the brake. - philhExplorer II

I agree. - GrooverExplorer IILike all manufacturers Tesla needs to stay of top of issues with their vehicles and I am sure that they have some but customers seem to have very high opinions of them in spite of some bad press.
CR finds Tesla has highest owner loyalty
experian finds high Tesla loyalty
I think that I would rather buy a product that has happy customers than one that does not. - fj12ryderExplorer III

You've mentioned brake use before, but honestly it's simply not that big of a deal with a ICE car either. I have about 40,000 miles on my 6 year old car and have not had to deal with brake issues, or replace brake pads. And if I did, it's about $25 for the pads. So really that non-brake problems with an EV isn't really that much of an asset.
That is exactly how “epedal” works in a leaf and “hold” works on a Tesla. You can literally go weeks at a time without touching your brake pedal. Which is why EV’s generally never need brake service. - Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

I'm in my 60's and have never been in a car accident. That said, and much to my embarrassment, once I was on cruise control on the interstate approaching my exit ramp and went to tap the brakes to slow down when the truck started to accelerate. Shocked I pressed harder and the truck continued to speed up. White knuckled I made the curve and went to let off what I thought was the break pedal and the truck slowed down. To this day I don't know how I thought I was on the break when I was on the gas. This was 20 years ago when I was a little sharper also. :h :S
But... but... Tesla is claiming to be soooo high-tech and should be able to protect it's own drivers against their own stupidity.:R
How about it Elon, or I'll be shorting your stocks!:B - Grit_dogNavigator IIAnother rvnet roflmao thread!
Brake peddels, lol are too small now....
Chevys crash too, take that Tesla....
My 1974 Ford had a stuck throttle.....
LOL. Heck there's been like 3 different car crashes into building news events in the last week or so around here. NTSB should be storming Seattle by now!!
Or maybe, in general, people are kinda dumb, then add 20000 oz of weed a day being sold here and the fact that if you have a couple million people, there are bound to be a lot of them who have sweater weather IQs and we're blaming auto mfgs??
Fwiw, I was victim of unintended acceleration incident last year as well.
Hopped on a 93 CR250 that hadn't been ridden in a while. They're kinda cold blooded pigs, so 3 easy laps around the (small) track and it was still blubbering a little and wouldn't get on the pipe. Until that corner I came out of in 1st, hit 2nd to clear a small double and all he!! Broke loose. Pipe cleaned out, throttle stuck and me and the bike went about 15' straight up in the air! Well not straight up, cause I landed about 30-40' past the takeoff point, lol.
I said my goodbyes to the bike and kicked it away and got up close and personal with the ground! Still not sure how I didn't break anything except the visor on my helmet. Couldn't walk real well for a few weeks and my knees took about 4 months to recover though.
My legal team will be contacting Honda Motor Company about this!!! Lol jk. - HondavalkExplorer III'm in my 60's and have never been in a car accident. Not just a Tesla issue. This is a plague on all automakers. - Vehicle brake peddles seem to be getting smaller too.
Go and stop seem to be much more equal sized these days.
