would you trust a company that a few years back intentionally shipped LT tires with critical parts left out to save money, even though the contracted specifications included these parts… then failed to cooperate and supply information to help identify the brands and dates effected …
the same manufacture of those Westlake load range E LT tires is the same manufacture of the Westlake ST tire…
mfg. Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Company of China… left out critical parts of the tire and cheated on testing to fraudulently DOT certify Westlake, Telluride, Compass and YKS tires… shipping more than a half million of them to the US…
I wouldn’t… talk to your dealer… that would be a deal breaker for me…
Was this Cars Direct article the source of your input? Just wondering ... :) that opinion seems at odds with these reviews.
A Google search on Westlake tire recalls yields posts from several years back. Maybe the issue has been resolved now. About a month ago I saw the tire on an RV like the one I am buying had a manufacture date of "0813" so they are not old stock from back in the recall days. My actual trailer just came off the assembly line and is in GA so I can't tell what its tires dates are but I am assuming that they are at least the same vintage.
Also as an aside, I wonder how they compare to Goodyear Marathons which I have had no issues with and which have a date of "3511".
