Any trips this weekend?

I've got the flu. However, not missing this weekend.

We are heading east to Mitchell, Oregon. Going to the Lucky Strike mine to get some geodes. Then, off to the Painted Hills for some hiking, see the fossils and a stop at the inlaws in Prineville to do some horseback riding. I'll post pics after we are done.

Anyone else braving the holiday weekend?

Got my bags inflated, tires, truck all prepped to throw the TC on tomorrow and hit the road.

Also...boondocking for 4 days. This will be the battery test. I might be doing my solar setup if this sucks. lol

    Nope I avoid holiday weekend travel like the plague. Too many stupid people on the roads and in the hills for my liking. Call me jaded from spending my career scraping those folks off the ashphalt or carrying them out of the hillsides on a stokes litter (me in the yellow helmet, news photo)

    They usually are for us too. We are hoping...the remote camping and off the path locations keep us from the masses. No dune trips for me on the hoilday weekends!

    Samo-samo.... Hate going out on the holidays... for the same above reasons.

    Currently down in La Pine, OR and staying put..

    Frank if I another day I'd swing in to say hi, love the area your in and if your in the campground next to the river, stayed there before and it rocks.

    day trip over to Hosmer lake, about 30 minutes west on the Cascade lakes biway

    Yah, it's a nice area. Expecting it to get a little crazy this weekend, but it's been quiet so far... a little dusty... and it's been chilly... 31f at night..

    Working all weekend, be safe Vinsil. We are heading over that way in a month or two. In two weekends we are spending a week in the Metolius, with a day or two out at Cline Butte wheeling and shock tuning.

    DW and I returned from our trip to Mueller State Park, Mesa Verde, and Aztec a week ago. We avoid holiday-weekend travel--one of the luxuries of being retired.

    The whole family and I are heading to China Hat Flats north of Wickiup Lake near LaPine, OR. Yeah, I know its crazy to try this but we have friends over in Bend and have put them off until we can't put them off any more. We are heading out after picking up the boys at school tomorrow.
