I have been pulling my boat with a 30 inch extension. It is a 3500 pd boat and trailer together. No super hitch and no problem. My hitch is rated for a 1800 pound tongue weight without weight distribution set up. Pulled several thousand miles with no problem. Not saying this is the way to do it but I have not had a problem.
Which hitch do you have? My Super Hitch is only rated for 1800-18000.
This is the stock hitch that came on my 2011 Chevy. It has the 2-1/2 inch hitch. Class 5. No kidding the tongue weight is rated at 1800 pounds with or without WD.
Yes, but not with a 30" extension. With a 30" extension, you're lucky if yours is rated for 1/3 that amount. 600lbs doesn't leave much for a trailer with a 375lb bike on it.
We are talking tongue weight I have about 350 pds tongue weight on my boat. I certainly would not put 1800 pds tongue weight on with a 30 inch extension. A 600 pound trailer should have a tongue weight under 100 pounds. That I would not worry about. JMHO
