Anybody have a Lance 975 on a RAM 3500?

I have a 2003 915 lite on there now. It's got some rot that needs repaired and some other to be expected issues. Thinking about the 975 for a little extra space and some of the new doo dads and gizmo's. Will be doing a lot more long trips to almost fulltiming with the wife pretty soon.
What I dont want to give up is my ability to get off road!
So wondering how the ol truck will handle an extra thousand plus pounds on forest and BLM roads, creek crossings, etc.....

I had one of those same year with 6 speed manual.
that was first year for DB owned them and they switched to the new trans. They had a strange final OD drive ratio. With 3:73's I used to tach 2150 rpm at 65mph, but man I could tow a house with that truck. In 2007 they changed OD so the RPM dropped in 6th.

Sold to my brother who hooked to a trailer that had bad wiring. took out the Power Distribution Module since the trailer wiring don't have fuses. $1000.00 out the door to fix it.
sorry I can't help you with your original question, but "nice truck". I miss the 25mph running empty on highway at 65mph.
