I had problems with that power distribution controller thingy also. When I had my TC on and then hooked up my trailer it drew just a wee bit to much power and tripped the stupid thing. Had to take it to the Dodge Stealer for a reset and they flashed an update to allow more of a power draw.
So I installed one of those tail light wiring converters with it's own power source and fuses. Wired it into the factory 7 pin connector. Bypass the horrible Dodge design for the trailer light and no problems for the past eight years. Why they would install such a system on a vehicle clearly built to tow is beyond me.
