Gerry hit the nail on the head. I have both an F350 gas and an F350 diesel. My Work & Play is around 9000 lbs. like your camper is.
We do at least 15 trips per year. Pulling that much with the gasser was bad enough. If it had been an F150, I couldn't imagine the wear and tear on that truck.
Not trying to stir up a gas/diesel war here. Just saying if you camp a lot or make big trips with big distances, you'll probably have regrets with the F150.
