I do have to say to start with that I did absolutely love the way this hitch performed up until this point. What hensley does will determine what I do for the future. By the records I keep I have bewteen 25k and 30k miles towing. I did learn from all of this that the bushing where the bars ride do wear out and mine are worn. But that shouldn't have any bearing on this problem. Actually with them worn you don't get as much pressure on the bar so it's the opposite effect.
Upon further inspections today. There's not much left from the hitch that is still good. The weight bars, jack tubes and frame brackets look ok. The rest has problems. Bottom half cracked. Top half where the strut bar attaches was pulled really hard and stressed out the hole and bent the pin. Both strut bars either broke or bent.

The pin here is bent and the hole on the right side egged out and not much more and would have pulled out.
