Anyone know of other floor plans similar to this?

I've been looking at floor plans for literally years now, planning to finally pull the trigger next summer (hopefully). I've learned a lot about what my family needs through online research, forum posts, and looking at many trailers in person. There always seems to be some compromise with these things, but I believe I've stumbled upon the perfect setup. Now I'm just wondering if there are other brands that offer it.

Basically, the must haves are the double bed over double bed bunks, outdoor kitchen (sink being the most important thing), and a television viewing angle from the couch that doesn't require you to turn your head 90 degrees. Months ago I found this ideal setup in a Jayco fifth wheel (Eagle HT 29.5 BHDS) but can't rationalize a fifth wheel at this stage for a number of reasons. Mainly cost but also I just don't want to give up my truck bed.

Recently I found a travel trailer floor plan that fits the bill! The Keystone Springdale 310bh:

I'm not necessarily opposed to a keystone product, and feature wise this trailer is equipped with what I need (power tongue jack, power awning, enclosed and heated underbelly, etc.) There is no fiberglass exterior option which bothers me because I'd like to avoid aluminum due to hail, and there doesn't seem to be a ladder option which suggests the roof isn't walkable. Those might not be deal breakers but I'm very curious if this floor plan is available in other brands. It's a shame Jayco doesn't offer it in a travel trailer as they have impressed me more than any other company in terms of build quality, fit and finish, warranty, and perceived customer satisfaction.

Ah yes, your floor plan is the Starcraft equivalent of the Jay Flight 28BHBE which has been high on my list. I did not realize the outdoor shower head attaches to the trailer, that is interesting thanks. How has that grey water capacity worked for you? It seems a little small relative to some other trailers I've looked at, but I've never owned one before so I have no idea how long that would last in the real world.

We have never had a problem with it with our family of 4 when boon docking for three days.
We have done a 7 and 10 day trips where it filled up (but I let the kids shower every other night) and I just emptied some of the water into a construction bucket and carried it to the toilets..

As a family of four, that is useful information for us to have thanks!

  • I will say that another thing I personally like about the style of the floor plan in my original post is the size. It comes in at about the 31 to 33 foot length as oppose to the 35 to 36 foot. It is also a single slide which reduces cost and complexity. There are certainly many nice trailers in the 35 to 36 foot range but for me that is just getting a tad too long and when it comes down to it, those larger bunk rooms don't really add much if any actual sleeping space over the double/double bunks.

This floorplan seems quite popular at least by manufacturer offereings in the last 3 years.

This Grand Design looks like it meets your requirements, but I do not like the door next to the bunks with kids that go to sleep well before adults.

    Maybe this Sport Trek.

    Keystone Bullet 310:

    or Bullet Premier 34.

    Solaire 312

Those are some interesting options that I was not aware of. Thanks!

My rig (in signature is very similar)
However, the TV is on the wall to the main bedroom.I lay on the couch so i am always facing the TV straight on. I don't have an outdoor sink. I DO have an outside spigot with a shower head on it (outdoor shower) which i use to wash my hands. The shower head fixes to the trailer so you don't have to hold it. And the water doesn't go into your grey tank (if you are without hookups this is important)

  • I have plenty of truck so I'm not interested in ultra light at all. I'm more concerned with being able to wash my hands outside while cooking and not sustaining a neck injury while watching TV.

To me it's a brilliant move to put the entertainment center in the middle and move the pantry and ward to the front. It results in more storage space AND a sizable outdoor kitchen while making for a much more comfortable TV experience. Relative to the traditional layout you see in almost every bunkhouse travel trailer. I just don't know why more brands aren't doing it.
  • we have a 2011 256rks Jayco super lite and it has held up well for over 50,000 miles. We did replace the 3500# axles with 5000# axles for better tire wear (6500# gvwr).

I think you can still see all of the JAYCO floor plans with their trailer specs all on the same page for comparison...

The older JAYCOs used to be great trailers until the down building for lower overall weight started just a few years back...
