Anyone make a "decent" enclosed trailer?

I have working on my Haulmark most of the day today (new thread coming soon) and noticed the only place the siding is riveted is where the panels overlap. The rest of it is bonded to the wall studs.

I have I a Haulmark Edge Mtcy. Trailer 7X12 dual axle. The panels are Indigo Blue (dark) , seamless no rivets, and I have never seen the panels ripple. Must be the way it's adhered , bonded ,to the framing. It 's .030 gauge. Not a close view but in my sig.

We have a 6 X 12 Mirage that we use for hauling our quad and excess camping gear. Have found the Cargo trailer site to be very helpful.

A timely thread. The DH is considering getting an enclosed trailer for some scout related activities. We'd already decided to go with a light color, either white or silver. Now I know a few other things to consider!

I went to Caldwell ID yesterday to Quality Trailer Sales. They do all kinds of custom work and I learned some things. Entry level trailers use 2.0 thickness for exterior walls. Much like foil. Mid level use 3.0. High end use 4.0 and 5.0.

Yours is obviously 4 or 5. And you have the skin attachment method I want. Sticky tape the full length of the uprights eliminating rivets or screw heads. They said this tape is so tough if they have to repair one from a crash it takes an sir chisel to remove the skin!!

Anyway they are working up some prices for me for different options. 7X14 with 6 1/2' rear ramp and minimums will be 5.0 skin attached with tape. Insulated vinyl ceiling. Insulated 3/4" walls. I would like aluminum or vinyl interior walls and Rhino Lined floor but will have to see how much $$ is left!!

Oh yeah, and it's going to be WHITE!! LOL

Hard to believe Boise does not have a Wells Cargo Dealer. Nearest one is over 100 miles away. But next door in Nampa there are about 3 trailer manufacturing places. One of them is Double R Trailers who advertise custom built trailers.

I think I will go talk to them and see if they would re-skin mine with something heavier or build me one of theirs with a stiffer skin. I don't care if it adds 500#, I hate those wrinkles!!

I've got a 7x14 Car Mate Sportster in white. I'de class it as a higher mid-grade. Never had any buckling whatsoever. Maybe the white color helps. The build quality is good, heavy floor framing, 16" on center studs,2x3 I think, 3/4 ply floor, 3/8, maybe 1/2 Ide have to check, ply walls. Put together tight. No leaks, 2 years. Led lights. Mid pricing. One piece aluminum roof.
I would hate those wrinkles.

No need to sell it. unless you simply want a white one.
Any brand cargo trailer is going to have variations in the panels when it gets hot, but it's less pronounced on a white trailer.

Your trailer looks really nice. I haven't seen or heard of that brand - so it must not be sold at any dealers in Washington.
In Washington, the primary trailer brands are:
Continental Cargo (a Forest River co) (they make several lines - entry level to fancier)
CargoMate
Carry-On (all the ones I've seen, I thought were low-end)
Wells Cargo
Haulmark
Stealth (sold at the same dealer as Wells Cargo and Haulmark - Freeway Trailers in Fife, WA
Interstate (low end as well as fancier models)

I'm on my 4th cargo trailer.

My first one was purchased in 1993 and was dark blue, Wells Cargo brand. I had it 17 years. The siding warped a bit in the extreme heat, but went back to normal in the cool temps. It never pulled out the screws - siding was fine, it never developed a problem in the 17 years I owned it.

Semi-trailers are similar - though usually the siding is riveted - I observed that today while driving and having a few semis pass me.

I replaced the 1993 trailer in 2010 with a 6x12 Wells Cargo Road Force. It was white, siding was screwed in place, it never developed a problem. I sold it last year after concluding I needed a bigger trailer for the purposes I used that one for.

For a short time in 2012 I had a 5x8 Wells Cargo FasTrac (sp?)
It had screwed on siding. I only had that trailer 5 months. During that time period, I re-thought my trailer needs and bought the 8.5x20 and kept the 6x12 and sold the 5x8.

The only trailer I have left is an 8.5 x 20 Haulmark Edge Race style Trailer - similar to the one Boatycall just bought. On mine, the siding is riveted. I bought that trailer in 2012. It's a 2008 model. The previous owner towed it so much, that he was on his second set of tires, and they were half wore out when I bought the trailer.

Airplanes have crinkled panels. I remember it very well on the B-52 during my days at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA.

The trailer will survive just fine. I know what you mean about the rattling when it's windy. My 6x10 blue trailer was a mini-camper. I insulated it. That stopped the rattling during the wind.

I have a Road Force by Wells Cargo in a light gray and have never seen this on my sides. I had Line X sprayed on the floor and 2" up the side. This basically makes the floor a tub and keeps any moisture from hurting the floor.
