Arctic Fox 22G

If you for whatever reason decide to sell then not having an awning for most would be a turn off. JMO. There may be a few that don't care for them, but then you have to hope they want your trailer.

Space is not a problem for those of you who have BIG fifth wheels. Your 295E is massive compared to the 22G. ;)

We'll see how much money can be saved, then we'll make a decision. If the cost savings is minimal, then I'll reconsider.

According to Onan's website, a 2800 watt RV generator uses 0.6 gallons of LP gas per hour under full load.

Let's do some math:
20lb. cylinder = 5 Gallons of propane
30lb. cylinder = 7 Gallons of propane
0.6 gallons x 12 hours of continuous use = 7.2 gallons

She drinks a lot of propane, however, as someone pointed out on the NROA Forum, the well insulated Arctic Fox would reduce the need for the generator to run all the time.

Ask or search the afnash forum about the LP generator. I kinda remember it may use more LP than you would think. Today maybe that is not the case.

OH! You can walk anywhere on an Arctic Fox roof. I hook the Onan into my aux tank. 100ga capacity and it will run my house for a week should the electricity go off and I have fuel.

Absolutely! If you can stand that small, buy it. They are the best trailer made in my opinion. We have a 31W and you can actually jump up and down on the kitchen floor without making a basement passage in one. Well insulated to 4 degrees and heavy but worth it. They put wood inside the aluminum beams and it makes it solider. Some one put up a film on Youtube or somewhere the whole building process. We have a +7.5 diesel Onan and take it on some trips. It is handy, can run fuel intake and out hose into a 5 gal can modified for it. Put it in the pickup, strap it down. Never used the roof rack.

That's what we've been doing, but our generator can't always run the rooftop A/C. We have the Yamaha EF3000iSE/B. If we add an auxiliary fuel tank in the bed of the truck, then it would be nice to eliminate the portable generator by adding an onboard LP generator. I don't know how much noise or vibration the onboard generator would create, but I will look into that info as well.

I sent an email to my dealer asking about the awning cost difference if it is removed from the build. I'll report back once I hear something.

I carried the generator in the truck bed. Think about it, no vibration or noise inside the TT.

I never thought I would say this. But a power awning that you can tilt is really great. A big plus is the support arms are high enough I can walk under them. That ain’t happening on a manual awning. It only takes about a minute to deploy or retract.
