I have no doubt that I COULD do the 990, safely. My ONLY concern is liability in the event of an accident.
My GVW was about 11,500 lbs with two occupants and the camper loaded and filled. Once hitched up, GVW was 12,500 lbs and GCW was 19,500 lbs.
I avoided snow when towing mostly because I did not want to have to chain up my truck and trailer but I did take the full combination across the Syskous, Cascades and Blue Mountains on a few Novembers with snow sticking.
