My preference is for the slide to open toward the Curb. (The 990)
I prefer that for side-of-road stops or stream side stops for the view.
The down side is that the road crown slopes in the same direction which makes longer term parking not so good with the slide open.
The 992 slide opening is over the elect/water/sewer hookups in parks. That leaves room for camp chairs etc on the passenger side - so that's a plus for the 992.
