I never had the 6.4, but had the 6 liter. There is reason it wasn't the replacement engine for the 6.0 liter. Seems to be a hit or miss for issues, much like the 6...but it is definitely a fuel hog.
I ended up buying a Duramax and have no complaints (other than Ford still make a better looking truck).
