What I don't know is how sensitive the eye is to the difference as the color temp goes down. The difference between 3200K and 4000K to me is very obvious. 2700K vs 3200, much more subtle.
The 24 chip 5050 SMD LED 921 bulbs I linked to earlier and which I'm using in my own rig are rated by the manufacturer at 3000 to 3500 degrees Kelvin, ~ 300 lumen ... since I don't own or have access to a spectrometer I'll take the manufacturer's word for it. ;) If I install one in a dual bulb ceiling fixture and compare it to a conventional 921 incandescent bulb installed beside it in that same fixture the difference is obvious, the incandescent being noticeably "orange", the LED being a much cleaner, brighter light. Virtually everyone who has seen my installation agrees and has much preferred the light output of the LEDs. As I said earlier I haven't yet come across any LEDs in the 921 / 1141 configuration that are intended for use in a camper that run anywhere near as warm as an incandescent bulb and the difference to myself or anyone else that's seen these bulbs in action is obvious. The irony for me that several years ago when I first started investigating the use of LED bulbs in our camper I thought I would prefer those rated at the same colour temperature as incandescents but then discovered I couldn't buy them anyway, with the closest being in the 3000 to 3500 degree Kelvin range which I now much prefer. :B
