I live in area where dog walking is popular.
People from 5 blocks away come here to walk their dog for convenience of the quiet street, but that comes with some "left overs" at the mail box.
If you think the aluminium will not corrode, try urine on it for few months and the cast aluminium mail box collapsed.
We solved the mail box issue with some vegetation around it and the dummy surveillance camera seems to stop the solid droppings on our driveway.
Still have to figure out how to deal with bicyclists blowing via stop sign at blind intersection.
