Inconsiderate Drivers

Recently a biker recorded an incident with his helmet cam that just kept getting worse as it played on local tv news(tampa).

A group of bikers zipping in and out of lanes passing cars on both sides. One driver got pissed and speeds up. car and and bike touch (with his door). Biker pissed now. Both pull over and driver lets into biker verbally. Biker lets into driver physically. Passenger gets scared and pulls a handgun on biker. At least she doesnt squeeze a round or two. video ends.

Indiana has that now on the interstates. They have pictures that show what is acceptable and non acceptable when passing 18-wheelers. I'm sure some people would argue that it doesn't address large motorhomes, which they perceive as big and slow.

I think it is a general lack of knowledge when it comes to large rigs. It should be included in driver's manuals. That might be a point that RV groups could bring to the attention of their legislatures.

I have a dash camera facing forward in the Bounder and one facing rearward in the toad. IF the footage is ever needed, hopefully they can be synced and show no space in front and LOTS of space behind to prove the idiot's fault.

The state of Washington has a no cutoff law and they will pull you over if they see you cut too close in front of another vehicle.
The one I liked was the guy that wasn't watching too close when he was trying to merge onto the freeway alongside me and had to take the ditch route when he discovered I was pulling a toad. I never slowed down.

That is specifically covered in many drivers manuals. You are not supposed to leave a full vehicle width thus preventing a vehicle from pulling up on your right. After making the turn immediately pull to the right to close that gap quickly. Oh, sorry, that was the CDL drivers manual. Every RVer should read it.

I probably should have made it more clear before I received unsolicited driving instructions; I was in a right turn only lane. It was a single lane with no other option than to turn right.

I find I can go just as fast 100 yards back and the view is better.

In my experience, it does not matter if it is an RV or a pickup pulling a 12' utility trailer.

There is just something about the vehicles behind you that HAVE to get around you.

I drive on a lot of two lane roads. Even if I am driving 4-5 mph over the speed limit, the car behind me HAS to find that opening to pass and then duck back in front of me.

Personally, I like to "drive" several hundred feet in front of my windshield and do not like being stuck behind a large vehicle blocking my view. But only if the vehicle is not driving the posted speed limit.

There is no way there are enough police to control this. Are you saying they have no reason to bring income into the city, county or state they work for? I don't blame the cops, they get a bad rap on everything these days. We need more of them.
