- lakeside013104ExplorerWe just got back, before the long weekend started. Park was almost empty. Our choice of sites.
The holiday weekends are for the loud and rowdy campers to act like real idiots all night long. We camp at home beside our lake and have the camp fire as large as we wish.

- Buzzcut1Nomad IInope, I have no want or need to be on the roads or in the woods with thousands of my closest strangers. Cant wait to be parked at a Sierra Sno Park and head off into the hills on snowshoes or do some late season fly fishing with no one else in sight

Probably not. I've considered going somewhere for Sat night. I usually avoid the chaos of the last major camping day of the year.
On the Wet side of WA, it is CHAOS as everyone tries to escape to the dry side.
In fact, I see that it is CHAOS as I type this.
WSDOT website says:
North Bend to Ellensburg (EB)
normal travel time: 78
Current travel time: 119
And the pass cams show stop and go... er.... mostly "stopped" traffic heading east.- jimh406Explorer III

Since we Boondock, we don't go out on long weekends there are just too many crazies out there
They are at the campgrounds, too! I think camping on a relative's farm sounds okay other than traffic, Tizi. ;) - Jim_CarolynExplorerSince we Boondock, we don't go out on long weekends there are just too many crazies out there
