Stinky Slinky here, I see no benefit to the other unless you have a long run.
What bothers me is walking around the sewage side of the camper where others have hooked and unhooked. I'm very careful where I go with my shoes after hooking or unhooking. Even though I can't see it I know sewage has been spilled there. I also don't like my power cord and fresh hose laying on the ground there. I have to handle these things. I don't use gloves but the first thing I set up is my water spigot and soap, don't touch anything with my hands until washed.
