OK, I hooked the two batteries in tandem, put a volt meter on both, individually and across the two. Pretty consistent readings at the moment between 10.4 and 10.6.
I then plugged into shore power, and the voltage jumped to around 14.6, so it does appear a charge is getting there.
On a side note, one of the batteries has what looked to be a little oil on top of it, have no idea where it come from, not sure if it was on there before installation, but could find no source in the camper compartment. I have never known a battery to seep oil, so I wiped it down, and will monitor.
Next step will be to pull both the batteries and get them tested, or buy myself a tester.
Can anyone recommend a good tester that won't break the bank?
Thank you again for all the help!!
