Battery Lock
My version of the home-built battery lock (pre-paint). I used 1-1/2" aluminum flat under the boxes and 1" flat on top.

As for the comments about the lock. If you add a small tube around where the lock goes leaving only the key section sticking out it would deter someone from cutting the lock off. I hope you understand I didn't explain that very well.
