FWIW, I was helping to make hops scaffolds this Summer. The Brewer swears by his own hops for beer.

The reason I asked about hydrometer use is that it is the only device that accurately measures the state of health of a lead acid battery (not inclusive of spectrometers). The users of the intermittent method of charging may be operating at less than full charge or losing battery capacity in the process. In fact, judging by anecdotal statements, those guys are replacing batteries more often.
