I know there are height restriction to enter Baxter SP…has anyone ever entered with a tall vehicle and/or been denied access for height?It has been a long time since I was up there, and I don’t recall any covered bridges in the park…why do they have height restrictions anyway?Tx, Bill

Good question , there is also a 7' width restriction and a 22' length . Almost seems aimed at TC's . The " rules " state that a special permit MAY be issued by the director .

FYI; called up to Baxter...the "special use permit" is to allow maintenance vehicles etc, to enter park. Private vehicles must meet size restriction. Looks like we'll be tenting for this one.

That is one limiting State Park.Besides the vehicle restriction, no animals (obviously aimed at dogs) is the most glaring. Otherwise the list of rules may be one of the longest I have seen.Is it that popular that this is needed?

I noticed that a reservation is needed to PARK for day use as well, with Maine residents getting priority.

x2 Bill. Baxter is geared for tents. Check the dog rule too .
