The amount of movement I have isn't much, maybe a 1/2" to an 1" over hundreds of miles but the clearances are really tight between my doors and the camper jacks enough that I want to keep things centered without having to reset it manually.
The camper stays on the truck bed 99.99% of the time so for me it makes sense to use something that will tie into the frame of the truck and give a more solid connection.
