Bedding

We used ours for a few weeks until I found something I liked better. Now we have something for summer that is light weight and something for spring and fall that is heavier. The curtains are packed away with the original comforter. With four bunks we have seperate bedding for each and sheets that go with the walls when the bunks are used for storage instead of grandchildren.

With as much formaldehyde my trailer had, back in 2002 when it was new, nothing would have survived in it! :) Had to air it out for a solid week when we brought it home!

Didn't really think about bed bugs being in new bedding however?? But, I guess anything is possible..

My lovely bride failed to explain to me that purchasing a travel trailer was an opportunity to decorate. Needless to say, the original bedding lasted only until the trailer pulled into my driveway. It was swept aside in favor of a new bedspread that "coordinated" with the new "dominant color scheme" of the trailer. I have been married long enough to recognize when the best plan is to get out of the way and the next month consisted mainly of me saying "yes, dear" when she showed me color-coordinated kitchen gadgets, towels, and dishcloths on Amazon. My only addition was trashing the original mattress in favor of a custom-cut piece of 4" foam with a 2" memory foam topper. MUCH more comfortable than the original mattress, an much cheaper than the "Queen Short" mattresses available from retailers.

Never figures in to my decisions

Besides throwing out the bedding, we also threw out the mattress.

The appearance of bed covering does not make one bit of difference to me when shopping. It is possibly the easiest thing to change. Much easier than relocating a kitchen.

We use our bed spread but it was the lease of the bed issues. Our bed springs were such a nuisance we placed a heavy sleeping bag between the mattress and the top sheet.

I am sure that this mattress is used on all TT in the same price range. And, I will say that the bed and headboard combination did have good “presentation” to the potential buyer.

However, as mentioned, there is nothing in the bible that says you have to keep the old mattress and we will replace it or add one of those fancy memory foam top before our next trip.

We also have one of those folding couches that makes into a bed; provided you do not mind sleeping on two different levels and you are only 5 ft. 2 inches tall.

We did change out the bedding on the camper we purchased in June and are now looking for a bigger one. I'm just a tad concerned about bed bugs in the imported bedspreads and it seems that they are being used by several manufactures. Could change the bedspread but afraid they will still be in the mattress.

We never use the original bed spread. Funny thing though, when we were looking to get a new trailer we thought about trading it in. We were asked if we had the original bedspread..the salesperson said it makes a big difference to many people looking to buy a used rig.

To my wife and I , it looks more like a cover for the bed and not to be used..sort of like that plastic wrapped furniture my grandparents had in the living room of the house....the room no one used. (Guess I am dating myself on that one)

The bed comfort or lack thereof, is what matters.
