No, they work just like a rivet except the center shaft that you pull with the tool actually screws in and out after complete leaving the nut in place. You have to be pretty careful with the drilling, this Filon is like drilling through eggshells. The nutserts went in easy, I THINK they were #10-24's but I'm not positive.

tool to insert them is just like a rivet tool.
We use them at work, hence these are "like" what I used, not the exact models. If you wish, I can look to see exactly what size nutserts I used. Will have to wait till tomorrow though.
On Edit: you have to drill out the bell washers a bit too... I used a dab of caulk behind the washer on install.
