The versatility of a camper can't be beat by any other combination. You can put them on a pickup, heavy duty flat bed truck, or trailer. To move them from one to another can usually be done in minutes rather than days. They are expensive per square foot but they have everything a larger travel trailer has, but in a smaller space. When you look at it, the TC design has to be much more efficient for it to work. I have a large TT and I don't use it anymore because I can take my TC/trailer places that my 34' Avion wouldn't be capable of going. It all depends on what folks want and what works for them, but when it comes to versatility, nothing comes close to a TC.
I think the biggest reason folks shy away from a TC is because they need more space. Many of those folks are the ones that want to stay indoors and watch TV, etc. If I was going to do that, I would stay home. For those of us who use the TC to sleep in, shower in, etc, but not to spend the majority of our time in the TCs work great. If I were to stay in a RV the majority of the time, my 34' Avion wouldn't be large enough.
