To be honest I had the discussion with Michelin in 1998. I am glad that they have put it in writing. Now we need to teach more poeple how to read the date code and insist on discounts for old tires. During the Ford Explorer/Firestone tire roll over investigation it came out that some of the tires were very old. They even found that some dealers had tires over 10 years old that they were selling as new. That resulted in changing the date code to have two digits for the year of manufacture instead of only one.
Do you know if Cooper has a recommended maximum life?
