Sams Club - Golf Battery GC2
6V GC batts from Sams are the best bang for the buck.. However the OP specifically stated that the budget is $100 total which would rule out 6V GC batts.
Since the OPs budget doesn't allow for better GC batts then basically they are stuck buying a "combo" "marine/RV" type battery. In a nutshell a combo marine/RV is a compromise in Ahr cap and even starting capacity.. It will work but not as well as something like a GC battery.
Price out a marine/RV battery at Walmart or Sams club, get the largest your budget can afford.
I used a group 27 in my first TT and I could run a small RV furnace (12K BTU) all night and a few incandescent lights for a few hrs and have a little battery left by morning.
Compared to my current TT which I have a residential fridge, LED lights and a 30K BTU furnace run from one pair of 6V GC batts and I have enough capacity to go 24 hrs before recharging.
One marine/RV battery just would not have enough capacity for my current setup nor would it tolerate being drawn down below 80% DOD (Depth Of Discharge) for more than a few cycles (in other words they only can be drawn down 20% of the max capacity for longest life).
GC batteries are able to withstand regular DOD below 50% and have lots of life left in them.. My 6V GC batts are now 8 yrs old and still able to power my TT for 24hrs.
