I only mention this as something we did;
I bought a 1997 Lance 165, Lance lists it as 1620 lbs dry weight, it is narrower, and shorter than regular campers. It was tight for me and my wife, but was ok. It has a bathroom with toilet and shower. I gave that camper to my Grandson and he put it on his Dodge short bed 1500. He put air bags on it and has used it many times with no problems. He and his GF and her daughter camp in it as much as they can. Its not perfect but it beats camping in a tent for them.
As I look through craigslist and other "for sale" listings I see a few 165 campers for sale, so they are out there.
Again its what we did and it worked really good, I wouldn't go any heavier thats for sure but this works.
