Best half ton truck to own out of warranty

Basic towing up to around 6000 lbs. Mostly just a daily driver. Price in the 12-15k range range ... Mileage 80-100k. Able to haul 4 people comfortably. I am not above considering a full size SUV either.

Neither. Someone else mentioned the 6.8 is not offered in the truck you are looking for and the 5.4 was a coarse sounding engine to me at least, with unremarkable fuel economy.
Here is a nice truck in Hendersonville,TN. Don't know where in TN you live but I went to Autotrader and did a search in the Nashville area. You might be able to get results closer to home and the check reviews at Edmunds et.
This truck should have a 7500# / 14000# rating, tow capacity / GCWR.
