Best half ton truck to own out of warranty
Just wondering, which would you choose? I've had 5.4's and a 6.8. Both were great reliable motors. Here are my basic requirements... Basic towing up to around 6000 lbs. Mostly just a dail...

If you could find a 2005 or so Ram 1500 Mega Cab (it's a 3/4 ton chassis) that would be a heck of a tow rig.... It's got the 5.7 HEMI in it, but probably not the best mpg's....

Thanks Mitch! I loved that old 97 5.4! True story about that truck. My family was at Disney several years ago and I picked up a little vinyl window cling that said "my other car is a monorail". When I sold the truck I forgot to take that window cling off.
About a year later my best friend is sitting in traffic and he sends me a pic of the old F150....the lady I sold the truck too must have liked that little window cling because it was still there. !!
If I could find another 97-03 F150 as affordable and as nice as that one I would really have to take a hard look at it. Especially if it was a 7700 Supercab!
