One of the things that makes the original Glow Steps (or the many imitators) a bit wobbly is the lowest leg that contacts the ground is a thinnish piece of bent aluminum flat bar. This has very little lateral stiffness. If it is sitting on uneven ground, it has little vertical stiffness.I fixed that on mine.
