Looking at Fords. Anyone have a Ford and how does it pull and how is it on gas?
Diesel gets 10 miles per gallon pulling trailer. Heard the newer Dodges are terible on gas.
I seriously doubt anyone here on the Forum has a Ford. I never see them anymore....
Seriously, Pulling your 11,500 lbs trailer is going to get you around 10 mpg no matter what the badge on the hood says.
Most of us would take any of the new big 3 trucks and be more than happy with it.
My only suggestion is that you should consider a 1 ton for the payload and not really much more money.
I agree with the 1 ton. Milage will be about the same as a 3/4 ton, and you will get more payload. If I had a do over, I would get the 1 ton.
Towing MPG won't get much better than 10, either way.
My F250 gets 11 - 12 unloaded, 10 - 11 with my 2500 lb TC, or 9 - 10 with my 8000 lb TT. It has the 5.4 gas with 4.10 gears. It likes gas, no matter what.
