- Skinny_ManExplorer III use BG products every day at my shop but I have always thought that any injector cleaning service is nothing more than snake oil. Top quality fuels have detergents that keep injector tips clean. I would pass on this service and spend the money on a something fun.
- kennethwoosterExplorerA top quality fuel additive used all the time will keep everything clean, lubricated, and add Cetane. A few years back I was running diesel irrigation engines. I went out one day and had bad blowby on one engine. Dealer said put in fuel additive. Next morning no blowby. I was using one of the best fuels that could be had, but discovered I needed to add additive along.

- Paul_ClancyExplorerI'd pass. Regular additive like power service will keep injectors clean and lubed. No need for an expensive one off process.
- I generally consider BG products a waste of $$$
- Ron3rdExplorer IIIIf it's not required to keep my warranty in good shape, ie, it's not required in the manual, I skip it.

- beergardensExplorerI would tend to agree with the above posts more so regarding the older mechanically injected diesels. However, the newer common rail fuel systems have a much higher incidence of injector failure. Certainly there are other failure modes than dirt and restriction, but if I had a common rail diesel I would consider performing a periodic injector cleaning as preventive maintenance, as well as considering extra filtration.
- ScottGNomadDiesel injectors don't normally need periodic cleaning.
I think this is one of those cases where if it runs good then don't mess with it.
